Edification

Edification

"In the beginning was the word." -John 1:1

All that we speak,

is always heard.

All that we think,

is always seen,

by those in the world,

and those in the unseen.

Do our words bring,

edification?

Or do our words,

cause hesitation?

The thoughts we think,

Are they built upon the rock?

Or do those thoughts allow fear to mock?

Edification is how we move forward,

you edify me,

I edify you,

We both push and pull each forward.

In this realm it's not just what we out loud say,

our thoughts have meaning,

our thoughts pave the way.

How can we flourish,

How can we grow,

If the thoughts and words of others,

are sowing in our soil? -Proverbs 11:20

Edification is how we continue to mend,

"Iron sharpens Iron,

so a man sharpeneth

the countenance of his friend -" Proverbs 27:17

We refuse to accept what has always been,

Knowing that people change,

We refuse to allow their light to dim.

Each and every prayer, word, and thought

We fan the flames of our love one's spark.

We allow the Good Lord to

pave the way for his

last to become first. -Matthew 20:16

We edify,

We lift up,

We use our words,

carefully and not to curse.

How do we edify others in a world that is moving so fast?

Hi everyone!!!! Wow, It Is January! It already feels like the year is flying! I hope and pray that the start to your year is good, and will continue to be good!

This month's theme is edification. After I wrote last month I inquired with the Holy Spirit and asked him what he would like for me to write about. The theme was quick which was unexpected. Holy Spirit said "Speak about Edification."

Of course, we can not place timelines on the Holy Spirit. His instruction came very quickly after I wrote last month. So I dug in to My Bible and proceeded to really unpack what it means to edify and how as believers we can edify others.

This month I experienced something very interesting. Normally when interacting with others Holy Spirit guides me and speaks to me regarding how I can help or assist someone with what they are going through. I had a conversation with someone and during this conversation and  I was intrigued by the way it was going.

Before I go any further, this month I learned that we as believers should develop and continue to integrate our lives with the Holy Spirit. We all have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit from Jesus. -John 14:16 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;" - 1 Corinthians 6:19

So during this interaction, I quickly made an assumption regarding what was going on. I Prayed a prayer that I felt was needed for this person to break through the bondage the enemy was trying to attach to them.  The next day, I had a conversation with the same person and to my surprise, my assumption was completely and utterly wrong. I am for sure that my prayer did not have any weight in the spirit because the prayer I thought was needed wasn't needed at all.

So after, interacting with this person. I reflected, I pondered, I prayed and started asking Questions.

I inquired with the Holy Spirit what the meaning of this interaction was. "How was I so wrong regarding the situation and how could I have done better?"

Holy Spirit said "You prayed a prayer without inquiring with me first"

This was true; I repented.

There I was being a Prayer Warrior and all my arrows pointed at the enemy were going into the ground.

Believer, we must inquire with the Holy Spirit, Jesus and The Lord first even when it comes to our prayers.

We must slow down in this fast paced world to inquire with our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit how they want us to speak, and pray.

Prayers are powerful.

I have seen burdens lifted, healings happen, and The Lord almighty move with the power of Prayer.

We all want to lift each other up, help others and edify those around us. Not only is it imperative we speak life over our friends and family -"Proverbs 18:21.

Are we edifying our prayers by inquiring with the Holy Spirit first?

Are we giving our words thoughts and prayers weight from the power of The Lord?

Or are we speaking haphazardly, praying without council or intention?

I completely was shooketh this month with revelation.

Every word thought or spoken, has the power to edify.

It is not just about what we speak, what we say and what we think about others.

We must also, ask the Holy Spirit to edify us, or words, and our prayers so the edification  is cyclical!

With warmth,

Crystal
